His current focus is on guiding teams and their leaders to achieve their maximum                                     potential by utilizing their individual and collective Emotional Intelligence, and fully accessing each team’s                                       Power of the Herd dynamics.

                                 Doug’s past leadership roles include several executive level positions leading organizations in the consumer products and professional services industries. His professional experience includes leadership development, strategy development and execution, organizational and business development and operations/financial management.

Doug’s consulting firm, Higher Ground Associates, designed and delivers the EQ2 Leadership™ offering for teams and their leaders to create an experience that facilitates the ability to excel. This offering combines the best of the break-through work based on Emotional Intelligence, along with leadership skills gleaned from applying The Five Roles of the Master Herder. This engaging EQ2 offering utilizes equine experiential learning, allowing team members and their leaders to access and accelerate their unique Power of Herd dynamics, and then bring these practices and behaviors back into their everyday workplace.

Doug has served on several non-profit boards and held numerous advisory positions, appeared in The Wall Street Journal, and played a contributing role in the research and interviews that were used for writing The Art of Happiness at Work, by The 14th Dalai Lama.
